Everyone is just making shit up all the time

We, humans, tend to put a lot of value in credentials and institutions as if these things were sacred.

In reality, most people are just making shit up and are fallible humans mucking about in an uncertain environment, with random conditions (more on that here which is the full episode of the audio above).

Credentials and institutions are all built by fallible human beings. They are therefor fallible and should be treated with the requisite skepticism.

I've been watching a movie about the relationship between Freud and Jung. They both made up psychology! They got a lot right and they also got a lot wrong!

There was also this guy named Adler who nobody remembers but got a lot more right (in my opinion).
